Over $50,000,000 has reportedly been donated to ALS. What they dont tell you is that pharmaceutical companies are in business to TREAT diseases, not to CURE diseases. Idk man to me it seems like a big scam. And its kept in place by the people sitting back asking WHAT you dont think people with ALS deserve that money?!?!. Like no I just dont think its actually going to what people believe its going to. You fundraise or donate and become convinced youve contributed and made a difference, but after the money leaves your hands who knows where it goes? More importantly, who actually cares about where the money goes MORE than simply feeling like theyve done something good and charitable? How many billions of dollars does it take to cure cancer, ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, or any other life threatening/altering disease? One billion more then the pharmaceuticals giants have. Because why wouldnt they spend every cent they have keeping a cure off the streets and positive feedback in the media? If they dont spend the money keeping business as it is theyll lose it to change anyways. Just my two cents haha. I became jaded about this a while back however, this is not solely about the Ice Bucket Challenge (Although it absolutely is the publicity stunt charity so common nowadays that I have a large issue with). Meh who doesnt have an opinion though.
