Over 55yrs Ago...I Brought My First Rescue Home..I Was Playing By The Train Tracks & Temporary Stock Yards (Where Now A Super Highways Sits) And There Was This German Shepherd With, Ribs Showing & Hiding In Brush. I Ran 6 Blocks Home..Grabbed Some Bread & Wieners & Ran Back. It Took Me Over Four Hours..Near Dark..Before He Had Eaten Enough Food & Was Used To My Voice..To Let Me Slip A Rope Over His Neck And Lead Him Home..Every Time A Car Passed Us..His Tail Dropped Further And He Pressed Against My Leg..I Wasnt Very Big Back Then & I Nearly Fell Over Each Time..It Took Me Three Days To Finally Convince My Parents That I Could Keep Him..(We Already Had 3 Other Dogs.He Died A Few Years Later Of Cancer..But Even As He Lay There And I Held Him...His Tail Still Thumped For Me!.. I Am Proud To Have helped In The Rescuing Of Many Dogs Since Then..But Watching This Video Brought Me Back To Wonderful Summer Saturday! ..
