Over so many years, Id to say to my mother, and with an accelerating frequency ... One day Id *like* to feel the kind of pride you and daddy felt for this country. In later years I would add, for just one day. Early on, this attitude alarmed, upset and often angered her. Yet later in her life she started to hear *and* see what I meant. We had a number of strange and wonderful discussions around the inherent dangers and impotent benefits of flag-waving (as I call it). It seems that every generation foresees our collective end. I know I do. Well, our evolution, really. And with a touch of glee, I might add. And often hear myself say, the more things change, the more they stay the same. And I Dream of manifesting. Manifesting collapse and chaos. And I Do it in my own little way in my own little world. And I look around. And I see it taking shape. And I keep my eye on the somewhat mean-spirited-n-judgemental, yet righteously just prize.
