Over the past couple years more than one or two people have suggested I run for either city council or Mayor. Here is why I would never run a legitimate campaign but would consider running a marketing campaign calling out everyone on their b.s. I am an Agorist. I dont believe in political solutions. I do put effort in locally and even those efforts have shown me that corruption is rampant, even on the local level. It would sicken me to have to play such a game and sell out what is right in hopes of chipping away at the power structures through politics. I do not believe you need a Mayor or a council to tell you how to live your life. The System is too corrupt and will not be changed from within. I find a better use of my time by being involved in the community, and speaking and living change. Not waiting for the votes to come in. I will admit there are (and have been some) local measures that effectively protected the people of Houston or limited the government. I support those but do not see long term solutions within the political realm or the government. So, vote for yourself for Mayor or City Council next year. I am sure you can run your life better than the authorities.
