Over the past few days, I have been mentally and physically preparing to embark on my first 15 day water fast. Ive done a 3 day fast before, but that didnt allow for my body to fully enter a detox stage. Am I a little bit nervous? Sure. But exponentially more excited to see what comes of the situation. Through discomfort, there is growth. Many great minds in history, including Plato, Aristotle, Mark Twain, Hippocrates, Benjamin Franklin, and Gandhi (just to name a few), have all encouraged fasting. It is a time for your body to reset and heal itself. There have been many reported benefits of fasting, including but not limited to: Weight loss Improved physical complexion Increased mental clarity Emotional detox / Purging of past baggage Physical detox / Body cleanse Vividness of dreams Increased spiritual connection Increased creativity Improving one’s relationship with food Reset poor eating and lifestyle habits from the past It has also been shown to dramatically improve several conditions, including but not limited to: tumors, pancreatitis, cardiovascular disease, psoriasis, eczema, ulcers, fibromyalgia, neurocirculatory disease, irritable bowel syndrome, asthma, depression, neurosis, schizophrenia, intestinal parasites, gout, allergies, hay fever, hives, multiple sclerosis, insomnia, and diabetes II (with a 100% success rate!).
