Over the years I’ve seen and experienced the impacts of others - TopicsExpress

Over the years I’ve seen and experienced the impacts of others either holding back or becoming jealous of individuals with great potential, trying to influence certain characters in a negative way so that they stay in a group of society and not excel. Rightly or wrongly people with great potential often settle for less and dont excel in order to please, fit in or appease influential individuals in their life. The big question is that we have to ask; Is this one of the many causes that attributes towards the level of stress that is being reported in not just young people in today across the whole world, but people of all ages? What takes a person to try something new, explore new ideas and pursue their dreams? Is it because they reach a stage in their state of mind that triggers a reaction to make change? So often people set out on a journey with a passion of high aims and aspirations, yet never see out their dreams/vision for fear of not conforming, doing as others wish, or even fear of risk. I believe everyone has a trigger switch inside their mind, that if pressed can give them the courage, drive, tenacity and urgency to achieve their dreams! Imagine yourself in a worst case scenario situation and close your eyes whilst thinking about this moment: Your dearest friend, sibling, child or loved one is critical and in need of emergency help. You need to lift a heavy post that is twice as heavy as anything you have lifted before and normally you would never try to lift such a weight, yet you find yourself in a situation where you need to find the courage and strength within you to remove the post off your loved one! How do you lift such an item? You know that if you run or phone for help, this could prove fatal and need to act now. Try imagine the emotion you would feel at first seeing someone you cherish critically hurt. I know if it was someone I cherished, my heart would sink, a lump would build in my throat and a sense of saving/protecting them would become my utmost priority regardless of any cost whilst holding back my tears. Its not a nice feeling, yet I would somehow find the strength within me to make the post move regardless of its weight. The feeling is upsetting, I know I must do whatever it takes. I genuinely believe there is a magical switch we all have that can be triggered when we truly need to be courageous and do something out of the ordinary, but knowing how to trigger this switch can take a life time for some. Put in a situation, maybe not as drastic as the one above, but enough to trigger the energy within you, we all have an ability to step up and do something extraordinary, or as some might say, do something spectacular. Now, imagine that you have managed to lift the post off your loved one and feel the emotion within you having saved their life as they look you in your eyes whispering thank you. Consider this feeling for a few minutes. What does it create? Hopefully a sense of pride, love, strength and high relief. Does your stomach churn? If you experienced these feelings, then you are starting to feel the emotion of having been able to trigger your inner strength beyond your normal comfort zone. How would you feel if you applied this theory to everything you do, whether it be studying for an exam, gaining a new client at work, achieving an outstanding award at work, being the fastest in your race, or just being the best you can possibly be! Being truthful, ask yourself, do I apply this level of emotion to everything I do? If not why? Imagine what your life would be like if you truly set out each day to achieve the best possible outcome? Consistently pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone can come with risk, but provide great rewards. Life is not a rehearsal, make the most of it!
