Over the years, being raised in the Indo-Pak or sub-continent - TopicsExpress

Over the years, being raised in the Indo-Pak or sub-continent community, there is a deep rooted issue within the community that has always disgusted me. It is the racism that exists within the community against those of black or dark skin. I have witnessed this from people who are supposedly highly educated, to those with little or no education. From people on the streets, to those in boardrooms. From people who are far from their religion, to those who externally seem to be practicing it. Why the need for this post? As Allaah says in the Quraan O you who believe! Protect yourselves and your families from the Fire whose fuel will be people and stones. Therefore it is incumbent on us all to address and tackle issues within our own families and communities before we work on tacking issues elsewhere. The Prophet (SAW) said an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Also Allaah says in the Quraan, O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. Racism is not just hating a person due to the colour of their skin but rather it is also thinking someone is below you or your people, due to the colour of their skin. Although this disease is common amongst people from sub-continent communities from all regions, people and religions, my post is directed at my own community, the Muslims. Firstly, know that having this disease in your heart or mind, means that you are following the way of none other than Shaitaan (Satan) the accursed. As Allaah says in the Quraan, that Shaitaan said I am better than him (Adam), You created me from fire, and You created him from clay. As you can see, Shaitaan thought that Adam and thus mankind was a lower creation to him as he felt fire was superior to clay. Secondly know that some of the earlier Prophets and even many of the Sahaaba were also black skinned. Know that black Africans in Africa became Muslims before the majority of Arabia did. Know that Africans and people of black skin throughout Arabia were Muslims hundreds of years before most of our ancestors had even heard about Islam. While they were worshipping God alone without any partners, the majority of our ancestors were still worshipping in excess of 300 idols. Some of you may find this hard to swallow. This is your pride and this will always be a difficult thing to swallow. History is history, truth is truth, and it stands out clear from falsehood. Let us all really look within ourselves and correct our mistakes. Else allow your pride and racism to reserve you a place in the Fire. As the Prophet (SAW) said A person who has an atoms weight of pride in his heart will not enter Paradise For those who are interested in learning more: https://youtube/watch?v=mJgW3p1Kqu8 May Allaah correct our affairs and the affairs of the Muslims, and also allow us to properly understand and practice Islaam.
