Over the years since those days during Vietnam, I still feel it all. In the beginning of the war everybody wanted to pat you on the back and buy you a drink for being a Marine going off to war and fighting against the communist hoard. In the end no one wanted to know you, and cursed you, as a baby killer. Thanks to people like Jane Fonda and many others we were on the bottom or the respect totem poll. Yes it was a stupid and useless war that we should have stayed far away from. But, we as Marines went and served with honor for our country and our government. We won so many battles yet lost the war and everything we fought for and died for. I present this here so that the few will remember and the children of the warriors will understand our devotion to our country and to freedom regardless of the outcome. We may be honored as heroes now but there was a terrible time in our history that we were not. I hope after all these years that your minds have cleared and your hearts have opened and most of all that you see the truth and understand what bad & stupid politics can do to a whole generation of good men. Now we are involved in another war but never for get that some gave all and some gave more than, hopefully, you will ever know, but I hope you honor and respect all of them. There pain and suffering was for us.
