Overnight conditions will remain dry across much of England & Wales, although there will be plenty of cloud cover around which will become more extensive as the night progresses. Some of the cloud cover may be thick enough at times to produce one or two spots of light rain. S’ly winds will gradually strengthen and as a result, temperatures will range from 8°c - 12°c. Across the far north west of Scotland including the western Isles, the winds will increase to gale force possibly severe gale (65-70mph), particularly over exposed coasts, the strong winds will be accompanied by a band of heavy & persistent rain. The strong winds over Scotland and the Western Isles will peak during the early hours of tomorrow morning. Overnight the wet and windy conditions will gradually extend inland across western Scotland & also parts of NI, with some heavy bursts of rain likely. Temperatures will range from 9°c - 12°c, given the strength of the wind, it’s likely to feel much cooler. We currently have a weather watch/warning out for heavy rain and strong winds.
