Overwhelmed!!! It is indeed an ‘Act of God’! What else can I say? Today, on your birthday, my beloved Rekha Singha, you made sure we didn’t feel downcast although it has only been two months since you left us. As I walked up the stage to receive my ‘Bar to VSM’ from Lt Gen MMS Rai, GOC-in-C, Eastern Command (last time you were among the audience with Arundhati, Sankalp and Tapan Singha at Air Force Day Parade on October 8, 2006), I could feel your presence in the hall applauding, and as if on cue, so did the audience. This second-time ‘Presidential Award’ for distinguished service of a high order was certainly driven by your relentless encouragement and selfless sacrifices, in enduring my long absences due to work. Thank you for all your conviction and push, my dearest! This medal is for you, and will forever remain as a reminder of your love and support. You certainly had the best ringside view today and I am sure of that, as your invisible presence seemed all encompassing. The cake is ready and will be cut with all present including Dad K Harendra Singha, Mom, Chiinmay Singha, Sankalp, Swarnali, Mridurekha, Saikritee, Tapan, and Rohan. Arundhati and Joseph are also doing the same in Kuwait. We miss you! We love you beyond description! Happy birthday wherever you are! And Happy Bihu too!!!!
