PA: An Historic Event Jewish Vegetarians of North America A First for Veg Advocacy JVNA, as a rule, does not invoke analogies between the Holocaust and factory farming. It’s an imperfect analogy to begin with, and more importantly, Holocaust references almost invariably distract the listener from hearing your true message. However, there is at least one person who can authentically and honestly draw comparisons between the murderous oppression of Jews in the Holocaust and the atrocious exploitation of farm animals in industrial agriculture. That person is JVNA Board member and Warsaw Ghetto survivor Alex Hershaft. History will be made in the vegan-advocacy movement on Monday night, August 25, when the Holocaust Center of Greater Pittsburgh, Rodef Shalom Congregation and JVNA present “Alex Hershaft: From the Warsaw Ghetto to the Fight for Animal Rights.” In front of what we expect will be a large audience in Pittsburgh, PA, Alex will describe how his experiences in the Holocaust motivated him to become a pioneering champion of farm animals. This is first time an official Holocaust Center has co-sponsored a program on veganism and the brutal oppression of animals in our world’s meat, dairy and egg industries. If you are within a days drive of Pittsburgh, this historic event will be worth your while. Advanced tickets and reservations here: https://charity-pay/e/event.asp?cid=66&eid=41
