PADRES ROYAL SPLIT Redcliffe Leagues Padres Major A Grade baseball team split its top of the table clash with Windsor Royals on the weekend at Talobilla Park. On Friday night in damp conditions, the matchup turned into a real pitcher’s duel with Jaz Shergill and Windsor’s Ryan Searle dominating hitters. A depleted AA team went down to Windsor 10-0 at home. In Pacific League the A Grade team mercy rule defeated Indians 14-4 Kale Schlenker pitching well and Joel Townsley hitting a home run. The B Grade team lost it starting pitcher to a serious arm injury and lost 9-0 to Windsor at Windsor. The C Grade West team lost its first game of the season with an error ridden 9-7 loss to Rapids at Lawnton while the C Grade Hughes team lost 14-8 to Narangba at Talobilla. In junior games that went ahead Saturday, the Under 20’s defeated Redlands 14-9 at home while the Under 14 Division team swamped Windsor 14-0, a towering Marcus Feagaiga home run a highlight as was the pitching of Kia-Noa Wynyard.
