Larrys Inexplicable Political Observation of the Day : The seeds that have been planted in the Supreme Court by those that serve or would be our owners have yielded poison fruit. When by the people and for the people is replaced with by the money and for the money, our republic is doomed. There is nothing more UNAMERICAN than empowering corporations over citizens. Our country was founded in large part by those looking to escape the systems of barons and serfs that the right wing now apparently is steering us towards. Fascism , by definition, is now the law of the land. When our form of representative government allows the buying of representatives, they represent those that hold the bill of sale, and not the citizens they purport to serve. Those that defend corporate personhood and unlimited financial influence are either the owners or the owned. One must be a complete fool to support the republican party today. Those that do, naively in the name of patriotism, are anything but patriots. They are MORE harmful to the United States than any terrorist could be, because they are unwittingly doing the terrorists bidding by destroying us from the inside. Modern conservatives look for all the rewards of citizenship but balk at making any meaningful contribution to the system that gave them what they have. They scoff at entitlements without realizing that they themselves are the most entitled. And now, by allowing the barons even more power over us, many will soon be joining the ranks of the serfs.
