So Ive sort of retired from retirement, sort of...but just part-time. About a month ago while i was interviewing with the principal of the Chatham Elementary School for substituting, she was kind enough to mention an upcoming reading assistant (NOT a reading supervisor, NOT an interventionist) position. Last week she offered me the position and i accepted it. I will be working with small groups (four students) from grades K-4 Tuesday-Friday mornings 8:45-12:45 (yup, i have Mondays off and, yup, i have afternoons off)...no duties at all. While the salary wont put Bob and me in the top 1% group, its still worthy...the principal even went back to the superintendent for more money for me and got it:)))) After subbing at this school, I felt pretty comfortable there...it was GREAT working with children again. And for those of you who may remember Cheri Armstrong who taught at Minot several years ago...well, shes the school librarian. Its very nice to work with her again. We are using the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt series which has every imaginable resource...and the stories are really kid-appropriate:))
