[Announcement] Chennai OCC: Folks. Im super proud to see what this community has come up to be. Considering that I am part of quite a few forums, I am very proud of the level of the engagement there is, and the quality of content that this place keeps. Credits go both to the members and the moderators who curate the conversations. Taking it a step ahead. I strongly believe that these meets truly have to be one that is run by the community. We are not an organization. And as such the onus of the topic, the content etc cannot fall on any one person - or a group of people for that matter. We also have to ensure that everyone has a chance - everyone does have something they know that they would like to, and should share with the community in large. To make life simple and predictable, we can host these meets at the startup centre and Ive also taken the liberty of mapping the *first saturdays* till march 2015. We want folks to nominate themselves for taking charge of each of these meets. Your task is quite simple actually - you can go with a topic that you are interested to, and will find a larger audience here who will also benefit. You are also quite welcome to change the format if youd like - of not just being a talk / discussion, but maybe even a pitch session, or a workshop if that would find interest. Bottomline, its upto you. I would request if folks here can nominate themselves - please comment on this thread, and once there are enough, Ill put up a note with all the dates, and names. 3 weeks before the set date, you can finalize on the theme / format and let me know. Ill update the same. I cannot stress on how important this is. Communities that are dependent on one or two people, run a risk of becoming ghost towns when and if those key folks get dragged into other aspects of life. Lets ensure that there is truly a vibrant energy in Chennai - it starts with each of us, offering something.
