PAGASA Severe Weather Bulletin No. 5 for Tropical Storm #SeniangPH issued at 5:00AM, 29 December 2014 -Seniang has intensified into a Tropical Storm and made landfall over Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. . -It has made landfall over Bakulin, Hinatuan Surigao del Sur early this morning and will exit the landmass of Agusan del Norte by noon then will traverse Bohol sea. -Estimated rainfall amount is from 15 – 30 mm per hour (heavy - intense) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Storm. -Residents in low lying and mountainous areas of the provinces with PSWS#2 and PSWS#1 especially Caraga Region as well as over Eastern Visayas and the rest of Mindanao are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. -Ocean waves may reach up to 5 meters. -Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the eastern seaboards of Luzon and the seaboard of Visayas and over the northern and eastern seaboards of Mindanao. -At 4:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm “SENIANG” was estimated based on all available data including Hinatuan Doppler radar in the vicinity Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (8.6°N, 126.3°E). -Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph -Forecast Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 11 kph. -Forecast Positions: • 24 hour (Tomorrow morning): 125 km North Northwest of Cagayan de Oro City. • 48 hour (Wednesday morning): 205 km Northwest of Dipolog City. • 72 hour (Thursday morning): 75 km Southeast of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. PUBLIC STORM WARNING SIGNAL -SIGNAL #2 (Winds of 61-100 kph is expected in at least 24 hrs) Visayas: Bohol and Siquijor. Mindanao: Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Siargao Island, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur,Misamis Oriental and Camiguin. -SIGNAL #1 (Winds of 30-60 kph is expected in at least 36 hrs)** Visayas: Leyte, Southern Leyte, Camotes Island, Cebu, Negros Oriental and Negros Occidental Mindanao: Dinagat Province, Compostela Valley, northern part of Davao Oriental, Davao del Norte, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental and Zamboanga del Norte The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11AM today.
