PAINFUL LOSS! Funny,but for Congo DR which came third in group D with 9 points, Nigeria with 8 points could still have qualified as the best third placed side. But truth is,WE ARE OUT! Blame it on the new rule which compels the defending champion to compete in the qualifiers,else we shouldve had no business in this disappointing run. Methinks,its an unfair rule. Automatic qualification should be one of the gains of winning the championship like it used to be. We were actually on to self destruct as the loses to Congo in Calabar and to Sudan in Khartoum were virtually not excusable. As for this match,like I noted before the match,Bafana Bafana were under no pressure,but the Eagles were under heavy pressure. That,to me,edged us out. Also, Middlesborough defender Kenneth Omeruo cost us the match. Keshi should have used a fit local central defender like Kunle Odunlami instead of an unfit Omeruo. Better preparation and better luck next time. We should be thanking God we didnt lose the match.
