PANG II ALS MENTORS ELECT THEIR OFFICERS TODAY! BINALONAN, PANGASINAN, PHILS.–DIVISION OFFICE, ( 20TH June 2013) A peaceful meeting full of vigor and eagerness to serve was first facilitated by Dr. Cornelio Aquino through a word of prayer using the global language (English) not Pilipino neither any of the mother tongues of the said attendees. At least around forty two (42) to forty four (44) mobile teachers and AGAP (ALS Gabay Aral sa Pamayanan) literacy volunteers under the Bureau of the Alternative System mobilized by the Department of Education Pang ll were gathered together for an emergency meeting today in order to elect their officers for the year 2013-2014. Literacy volunteers contracted for a year were denied of their rights to vote due to their unstable assignment perhaps. Among the nominees for the position of the president was Ms. Darlene Mange, an awardee mobile teacher from Labayug Sison Pangasinan, was disqualified because she was not around during the election. She arrived later though occupying the position as one of the business managers of the association. After electing the president in the name of Ms. Rosie Javier from Asingan, she immediately took the floor to continue electing the rest of the officers. The catching phrase of the elected president went; “I’m willing to serve!” captivated more votes than the caption uttered by Mr. Joselito Jacob saying; “Ilipat kayo kung saan nyo gusto!”. Mr. Joselito took the position as the vice president of the association of the said mentors under the ALS program of the government through the DEP-ED particularly. Just before leaving the place, the writer has to make sure she got a copy of the cd Mr. Jacob just burned overnight just to be able to distribute the next day during the meeting. His love for the work has obviously helped the ALS program as a whole especially in the area of information dissemination . To sir Jacob, thank you and may you keep your supportive spirit for the group most especially for the new volunteers. May God’s grace and wisdom be upon us all!
