PASTORE, Ralph - Passed peacefully away at home in the presence of family and friends on Friday, February 1, 2002, Ralph Thomas Pastore, PhD., age 60 years, archaeologist and ethnohistorian. Beloved husband of Laurel Doucette; and dear father of Ralph Lucien, Toronto, and John Patrick, New York. Predeceased by parents Lucien Pastore and Mary Kerin; brother Jim Pastore; and brother-in-law Bill McClain. Ralph will be sadly missed by his friends and colleagues in the Department of History, Memorial University, and in the Archaeology Unit, Queen`s College. He will be remembered both for his contributions to Beothuk history, especially through excavation and interpretation of the Boyd`s Cove site, and for his irrepressible and wildly inventive sense of humour. The family will receive visitors and friends at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Sunday 7-10 p.m. and Monday 2-4 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 5, 2002 at 9:30 a.m. from the Basilica. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
