PAUL’S TIMELESS INSPIRATIONS “PEOPLE PLEASING – ONLY BECAUSE I CARE!” Are you a people pleaser? What’s wrong with that? Absolutely nothing! I think that sometimes when we judge someone as a people pleaser, or when we’re judged as a people pleaser, we should look to see if we say it as an insult, or whether we take it as an insult? I’ve seen it used as both a compliment, and sometimes as an insult. Today, I want to celebrate the PEOPLE PLEASERS! I think that I am a people pleaser, and what drives me to be a people pleaser is not just what others think but what I think of myself. For me, people pleasing is something that is driven from within, and part of me wanting to meet or exceed not just other people’s expectations of me, but my expectations of myself. Let’s own what it may mean to be a people pleaser and remember that people pleasing can be a good thing for you, and the recipients of your gifts. Today, I choose to see the positive side of being a people pleaser, and to not to judge people pleasing as a negative thing. I don’t know what motivates others to be a people pleaser, and I definitely don’t want others to judge my people pleasing as something I am not willing to take ownership and am proud of. I love people, and I love people pleasers! – Paul’s thoughts “I finally know the difference between pleasing and loving, obeying and respecting. It has taken me so many years to be okay with being different, and with being this alive, this intense. (xxvi)” ― Eve Ensler “Bad psychoanalysis would say I enjoyed pleasing people, working really hard and pleasing people, which is probably related to my father in some way. But I really liked working hard. When I worked at Disneyland, Id do 12 hours straight and go home thrilled.” – Steve Martin “The biggest mistake we commit in life is to think that others will get affected by our action and we shall leave some effect on them. In this hope, we make others reactions our priority and fail to perform the task were supposed to do right at the moment.” ― Himmilicious “something very addictive about people pleasing. Its a thought pattern and a habit that feels really, really good until it becomes desperate.” – Anne Hathaway “Following our inner guidance may feel risky and frightening at first, because we are no longer playing it safe, doing what we should do, pleasing others, following rules, or deferring to outside authority.” – Shakti Gawain Make it a Powerful Day!
