PD didnt respond to my letter to the editor, so here it is: If Bob Frantz is trying to make a comeback like LeBron James, he picked the wrong city. Frantz was fired by WTAM this past summer. He was the keynote speaker at a police support rally on Saturday, December 27. Organizers for a pro police rally probably didnt expect Frantz to turn the sea of blue event into an anti government rally . When Frantz said that the scathing report issued by US Department of Justice regarding Cleveland Police failures was fiction he showed blatant disregard for the rule of law, oversight, and accountability. This ironic twist at a pro law enforcement rally is not helpful to regain effective policing in Cleveland. When hundreds of white people come into a majority black city for a police-support rally, trying to diminish the calls for police reform, then they are in the wrong city with the wrong message. Local big media drooled over the anti-democratic, pro-police rally in Cleveland, boosting the rally numbers estimates, saying thousands attented. Every community organizer knows that diversity trumps numbers at any public gathering. Without diversity of race and ethnicity the message is nothing less than dictatorial and elitist.
