PDP GOVERNORS STRUCK A DEAL WITH PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN TO LEGITIMIZE CORRUPTION IN THE COUNTRY. BY ABANDONING CIVILISED STANDARDS OF CONDUCT, THEY ARE CONSPIRING TO CREATE A MONSTER The decision by all the governors of the Peoples Democratic Party to support the second term aspiration of President Goodluck Jonathan was not done until the governors were able to get some commitments from the President, Saturday PUNCH has learnt. According to the PUNCH Newspaper Report, the governors extracted words of commitment from the President before they endorsed him. The governors were said to have been assured that they would not be harassed by the agents of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Commission after leaving office because of their support. Though there is no known petition yet against any of the governors who are still enjoying immunity now, aides and children of some of them have however been reportedly interrogated by the operatives of the EFCC. If not that the governors still enjoy immunity, some of them no doubt would have been picked up or invited for interrogation in connection with widespread cases of corruption including outright stolen and stashed money abroad, squandermania in uncontrolled importation of all kinds of useless merchandise from all corners of the globe, as well as embezzlement through inflation of contracts to an ever increasing army of party-loyalists and supporters, who have neither the desire nor competence to execute the jobs in their states. The deal must have been informed by the conviction of 3 former PDP Governors. These are Lucky Igbinedion , from Edo State, James Ibori from Delta State and DSP Alamieyeseigha from Bayelsa State. For those who would ask whether this is true or not, I should be quick to tell them that in Nigeria; Nothing is true (and ), everything is permitted like William S Burroughs would say. But time will certainly tell. It will also be recalled that two sons of Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, were some months ago arrested by the EFCC over an alleged N10bn fraud, and yet this is the serving Governor who has the backing of former President Olusegun Obasanjo to contest the 2015 election as President . It was one popular writer who said; Monsters do not play by the rules. When you abandon civilised standards of conduct, you run the risk of becoming a monster yourself. Thus, these intellectually barren power profiteers and power-thirsty political office holders are tacitly creating a charismatic monster, for the sake of their stomach A word is enough for the wise
