PDP HoA PRIMARIES: Disenfranchised Aspirant Cry Foul *Accuses HoA Speaker, Party Leader, LGA Boss & Police Chief *LGA Boss Denies Allegations Today was slated for Party Primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the emergence of the partys flag bearer for the State House of Assembly elections, come 2015 General elections. The Delta State experience recorded partisans mixed feelings & response to the outcome of the process. According to one of the aspirants, the primaries was marred by Party Leaderships High-Handedness, disenfranchisement, violence, rights abuse and police brutality. Ogbueshi Gabriel Ifeanyi Iyoh, an aspirant on the platform of PDP for the Delta State House of Assembly, aspiring to represent Oshimili South State Constituency, has raised his voice through an exclusive media chat with Asaba Post News-wire about his tales of woo and democratic rights abuse he suffered today. Ogbueshi Iyoh alleged the Police was used to deny him access to venue of party primaries, while political thugs loyal to the trio of: Rt. Hon. Peter Onwusanya, Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly; Barr. John Chuks Obusom, Oshimili South LGA Chairman & Evang Ebielim Maduemezia, PDP Oshimili South LGA Party Chairman were instructed by the trio to unleash public assault, degrading body harm, merciless beating and debasing treatment against his dignity and personality. Ogbueshi Ifeanyi Iyoh lamented that the Divisional Police Officer (D.P.O) of Asaba B Division and his officers & men were key actors against the exercise of his fundamental democratic rights. As at going to press, all attempts to reach the police commissioner on phone proved abortive. Also all attempts to reach the trio through phone calls and SMS was never successful, apart from the response from Barr. John Chuks Obusom, Oshimili South LGA Chairman, the rest presumed actors has ignored all Phone calls & SMS from Asaba Post News Wire. Barr. Chuks Obusoms response is rendered below, though in parts below: I dont have boys and doesnt use any. The security men were asked as was their primary duty to keep the peace. All the Aspirants were asked out to enable them have peaceful primaries before accreditation. The Speaker and all other Aspirants left the venue. The said Ifeanyi Iyoh returned with thugs to force his way but was overpowered by the security agents. This incident took place in the morning around 10AM. The Returning Officer came in around 3.20pm. All other Aspirants and Delegates were accredited and voting was peaceful. He did not return to vote and he was not disallowed. Rather, he had planned to disrupt the primaries with thugs but was disallowed by security agents. Ogbueshi Ifeanyi Iyoh told Asaba Post News-Wire that he has petitioned the Delta State Police Commissioner, the State Security Service and other relevant authorities over the ugly undemocratic injustice he suffered. On pressing further legal court actions, Ogbueshi Iyoh said that might come up after his medical treatments. An aide loyal to Rt. Hon. Peter Onwusanya, Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, who does not want his name online granted media chat with Asaba Post News Wire shared his views thus: *We will never join issues with a serial failure *Ogbueshi Iyoh before the Primaries voluntarily surrendered, why is he agitating now, who does he want to cow? *I make bold to tell the world that Ogbueshi Iyohs claim of attack were self inflicted and must be disregarded. *The Speaker is a humble man, a peace-loving man, his political philosophy is one built on complete inclusion and participatory exercise & engagement. *It will amount to or spell unfair to his person for any body somewhere to equate his personality to political violence or acts of democratic injustice. Ogbueshi Ifeanyi Iyoh has vowed never to allow this acts of political and Democratic injustice rob him of his fundamental democratic and political rights to represent and deliver democratic dividends to the good and great people of Oshimili South state constituency.
