PDP Will Deliver 99% In All Elections In 2015 ~ Obuah The Peoples Democratic Party has reiterated its readiness to have almost all elective positions occupied by qualified Nigerians using its platform in the 2015 general elections. Speaking during an official visit by members of the South-South Zonal Executive Council at the PDP State Secretariat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Thursday, March 13, 2014, the Party Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah said all machineries have been put in place to achieve the 99% victory target, and that no single seat, not even a Councillorship seat will be lost to any political party in the 2015 general elections. The State PDP Chairman told the Zonal Executive members led by the Zonal Chairman, Dr. Steve Oru, that the Party became stronger after the exit of the State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, saying the defection of the Governor to the All Progressives Congress does not affect the PDP in the State. He emphasized that those who make things happen in terms of voting and mobilization of the people are still in the party, nothing that all those who left the Party following the injustices that crept into the party then have all returned and are fully and actively involved in all party activities and programmes. Obuah assured the Zonal Exco that come 2015, the PDP in Rivers State will give President Goodluck Jonathan overwhelming votes, even as they are always ready to give him a rousing reception when he visits Rivers State. According to him, “PDP has come to stay in Rivers. That was why the APC membership registration exercise in the State was a complete failure, because this is the home of PDP.” He reassured the Party stalwarts and Executive members of his administrations commitment in ensuring that the proper thing is done, and every members right respected, not excluding the women whom he urged to organize their rally in the State, assuring that such rally will be a huge success. In his comment, the Zonal Chairman, Dr. Steve Oru, commended the leadership of the PDP in Rivers State, under Bro Felix Obuah, which he said is the only recognized State Exco of the Party in the State, reaffirming the fact that the party in Rivers State has become bigger and stronger, as it is at the centre and at the Zones. Describing the State Party Chairman, Obuah as fearless, courageous, focused and committed, he applauded the gallant support and leadership qualities offered by the Supervising Minister of Education, Barr. Nyesom Wike, urging them and other party faithful in the State to sustain the feat and remain steadfast in supporting President Jonathan and the National Chairman and other leaders of the Party at all levels. According to him, “PDP is a universal Party, belonging to the A.A. Blood Group, which is for excellence. What is happening now is mere shenanigans, but PDP will remain supreme in the South-South Zone, at the national and in the States.” Highlight of the State visit was the swearing in of two members of the South-South Zonal Executive members by the Zonal Legal Officer of the party. Those sworn in include, Miss Justina Emeaji as Financial Secretary and Engr. Ben Dumbari Dimkpa as Ex-officio member.
