PDP affirms Fadahunshi as Osun East Senatorial Candidate Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Sunday, affirmed the candidature of Chief Francis Fadahunshi, as its standard-bearer for Osun East 2015 senatorial election, declaring that he won the primaries held on December 7, 2014 in Ilesa. The party maintained that the clarification became imperative as a result of a litigation instituted by one Joshua Oluwasuyi, challenging the eligibility of Fadahunshi before an Osogbo High Court. Speaking during a chat with newsmen in Osogbo, on Sunday, chairman of the PDP in Osun, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa, contended that the plaintiff in the matter was not a member of the party and never participated in the primaries as he had wrongly claimed in the suit. According to him, “the case does not have any effect on the outcome of our primaries. We dont know the plaintiff and he is not a member of our party. In fact, we have not been served any paper regarding the case. “I only read about it in a newspaper, so, as far as we are concerned, the case only exist on the page of newspaper. “We had a successful primaries and everyone can attest to it. Fadahunshi won our primaries for that senatorial district and he remains our candidate,” Olaoluwa asserted. He emphasised that PDP remains an indivisible entity in the state, just as he expressed optimism, regarding a favourable judgment for the PDP’s candidate in the last governorship poll, Senator Iyiola Omisore, at the ongoing election petition tribunal. Olaoluwa averred that “going by the time frame of six months as stipulated by the constitution, on or before February 9, tribunal must give its judgement on our petition and we are very confident of favourable judgement.
