He was accompanied with PDP senior leaders Abdul Rehman Veeri , Peer Gulam Hussain , Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal and others . “It was first NC which exploited the people of this backward and hilly region for several decades. Later Congress came to power in the state by unprecedented support from this region but unfortunately both the parties treated the people of Chenab Valley especially Bhaderwah not more than vote bank, betraying their trust for the lust of power and luxuries,” PDP MP said. He said now Congress is vanishing from the map of the nation and people of Bhaderwah constituency should also become a part of this and support PDP candidate Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal for coming elections for better future of your children s . He said in new administrative units firstly Congress and NC ignored opposition strong holds but after pressure of the PDP they announced new administrative units .He said for induction of left out areas in AU PDP president her self submitted memorandum of demands to Governor of the state which also included left out areas of Chenab valley . He said Congress had done nothing for the common people of Bhaderwah , Bhalessa and Charalla but only work the welfare of their blue eyed boys . Appealing people of Bhaderwah to cast their vote to PDP candidate Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal for the welfare of the Bhalessa, Bhaderwah and Charalla and to end family-ism . Tariq Hamid Karra assured that backwardness and underdevelopment of this region would be removed by implementing a comprehensive action plan. He said that Chenab Valley is economically as well as strategically important region in the whole sub-continent due to availability of huge natural resources in the form of water and forest in this belt. He, however, regretted that instead of improving socio-economic conditions of the local people of Chenab Valley, the exploitation of water and forest resources has resulted into ecological degradation and destabilization of geological features and a disruption in peaceful lives of common citizens. Exhorting party workers to agitate for their genuine demands, Mr Karra demanded that locals should be given priority in the new hydro-electric projects and other developmental activities going on in this belt. Instead of appointing locals on small petty jobs, the agencies engaged in executing the hydro-electric projects must open training centres here to train the local unemployed youth so as to engage them on technical and skilled jobs, he demanded, adding, employment opportunities for locals must be created while constructing hydro-electric projects in this belt. Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal , Irshad Malik , Thakur Yudvir Singh , Chaman Lal Gupta , Naveen Kumar Koul , Kewal Krishan Kotwal , Shokat Malik , Ab Hafeez Wani ,Ab Hamid Ganai and others and others also spoke on the occasion. It is notable to mention here that by organising one day party workers convention at Bhaderwah PDP tried to show its power to Congress and BJP and it is an eye opener for them , political analysis said .
