PDP will form next Government in J&K: Mehbooba JAMMU, December 15: Exuding confidence that it would form the next Government in Jammu and Kashmir, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti today said it would ensure equal representation to people from all the three regions of the State. “PDP wants all the regions and communities to be part of the change in Jammu and Kashmir. We are thankful to the electorate for giving decisive mandate to PDP in the first four phases of elections held so far in the state but at the same time participation of Jammu region in the new Government formation was necessary as only inclusive mandate could bring a meaningful change we all have aspired for,” she said while addressing an election rally here today. Mehbooba, who is PDP MP from South Kashmir, said that her party has not only emerged as an option but also the priority of the people of Kashmir, Chenab Valley, Reasi and Poonch districts. “We have not only given a vision to the people and state but our performance in a short span of three years has also inspired people to vote for us,” she claimed. “People are participating in this election to write a new script in the state’s political history and the trend shows that they are enthusiastically voting for change,” the PDP chief said. Mehbooba said that the people have voted against a system and against a party that has plunged the State into chaos and confusion. “The people in Jammu region will also have to take a decision as what they are voting for. We want all the regions and communities to be part of this moment to script a new chapter in the history of Jammu and Kashmir,” she said. The MP said that politics based on regionalism, communalism and division has to end and PDP will be a bridge to realize this objective. “We need your support and vote to ensure that Jammu and Kashmir emerges as an island of peace and prosperity,” she said.
