PDP will rescue Lagos from APC’s misrule - Sambo The Vice-President, Alhaji Namadi Sambo, has again reiterated the stand of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to dislodge the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Lagos State and rescue Lagosians from the APCs misrule in 2015. The vice-president disclosed this at a peace parley in Lagos, following the peace deal brokered by President Goodluck Jonathan between the warring governorship aspirants of the party in the state. Some of the notable faces present at the parley were Sambo, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, one of the governorship aspirants at the just concluded governorship primary, and the winner of the primary, Jimi Agbaje. According to Sambo, I am delighted to know that we are more than ever before united to form a common front in realising our objective of not only capturing Lagos but winning all seats at all levels in the forthcoming 2015 elections. The Lagos State PDP and indeed Obanikoro, Mr. Deji Doherty, Ambassador Tokunbo Kamson and Mr. Babatunde Gbadamosi who were our governorship aspirants have agreed to team up together and work to win Lagos this time around in 2015. Agbaje, our governorship candidate has signified interest all along to work with our party members to deliver Lagos State. He is indeed humble to know the enormity of the task in delivering Lagos State and therefore appeals for total support by putting all hands on deck to realise the challenge that lies ahead of us. I will continue to pray that our party succeeds in this endeavour. Lagos has for years been yearning for change from the burden of excessive taxation and squander. The huge resources accruing to the state are used to the detriment of the good people of Lagos State. Accusing the APC government in the state of insincerity, Sambo said: We are poised more than ever before to rescue Lagosians from the sufferings of giving with the left hand and then, taking it away by the right hand. This cannot continue, the time for PDP to take over Lagos State has come. On his part, Obanikoro said: Despite the inadequacies experienced in our governorship primary, we have disagreed but we have also agreed that Jimi Agbaje is our candidate. Thanking his supporters, he said: My passion for Lagos State is known to all of you and that passion will trigger a level of sacrifice that will ensure victory. When you do that talk, you must do the walk because success and failure have a very thin line. A lot of us must be prepared to sacrifice and we should also bear in mind that there is no winner and there is no loser in this endeavour we have just ended. We must be ready to dislodge the APC in Alausa. It is time to do that and when that is done, PDP will be the winner in Lagos State. He commended Jonathan for brokering the truce in the ruffle that followed the governorship primaries of the party. I want to thank the president and the vice-president and the best way to repay them is by winning Lagos State for them. Winning on February 28, 2015 is a task that must be done. Also Agbaje in his remarks, expressed optimism that the PDP will form the government in the state after next years poll. During the meeting that ended, we agreed that we would all sleep better and by us sleeping better means that some people will not sleep well. Like Obanikoro, Agbaje praised the president for the role he played in brokering peace amongst the warring parties. He said that the president, with his leadership, had made the party in the state stronger. Through the intervention of the President and the vice-president, our party, the PDP in Lagos State is made strong.
