PEOPLE IN TROUBLE AFTER ATTENDING MAGAYAS SERVICE Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx HARARE preacher and leader of the Prophetic Healing Deliverance Ministries Prophet Walter Magayas two day miracle-filled crusade in Bulawayo last week reportedly caused panic among local churches following reports that their pastors allegedly threatened church members who attended the crusade with expulsion. It is alleged that congregants from a city Pentecostal church were Sunday called for a disciplinary hearing after they were found wearing wrist bands Prophet Magayas PHD Ministries. The threats came after thousands of people of all ages and from all walks of life thronged Amazulu Sports Club attending Prophet Magayas explosive and revival crusade where the sick, women in troubled marriages and those who were living with disabilities claimed they were healed and spiritually delivered. So ugly are the threats from some angry pastors who reportedly issued stern warnings to their members who bought Prophet Magayas famous anointing oil, wrist bands and stickers. They reportedly ordered their congregants to surrender the items for burning. In a bid to coerce and instill fear in their congregants, one unsettled pastor said those who refused to come forward with Magayas items would be named and shamed by the Holy Spirit during the service. A member of Pentecostal church in Northend said their pastor last Sunday dedicated the whole service to blasting congregants who attended PHD Ministries founders crusade saying it was a great betrayal to the church. The member who preferred anomnymity for fear of reprisals said the pastor threatened to punish all those who attended the crusade. Our pastor dedicated last Sundays service to blasting congregants who braved the chilly weather on Thursday and Firday last week attending Prophet Magayas healing crusade. The pastor said whenever they asked people to come for all night prayers, they do not come but they had guts to sneak out of their homes attending Magayas crusade and bought anointing oil and wristbands which are believed t destroy bondage and evil spirits. The pastor said all those who bought the anointing oil and wrist bands should surrender them to church so that they can be burnt. Failure to bring them the pastor said one risked being named and shamed by the Holy spirit before being ex-communicated. However, the threats did not go down well with some congregants who said the pastor was afraid of losing church members to Magayas ministry after they witnessed the demonstration of Gods work after the sick were healed, said the member. Added the congregant: There is no doubt that the threats are going to foster divisions within our denomination as some members who want the pastors favours are secretly going to them lying about members whom they have grudges with that they attended Magayas crusade so that they can be demoted. Said another church member from a city Pentecostal church: Our pastor was shocked on Thursday evening when he reported for our regular evening services when he found less than 10 people in the church. Members who were in attendance later told him that people had attended Magayas spiritual healing crusade. The move irked our pastor who threatened to spiritually punish all those who attended the crusade. Congregants are now living in fear following the threats. On Sunday after the service a female congregant, who appeared in a local newspaper while in a trance like state, was summoned for a hearing for putting the name of the church into disrepute. Ironically, some pastors and evangelist who graced the crusade candidly jostled to have Prophet Magaya lay hands on them after he invited them to the podium where he prayed for them saying he was boosting their spiritual powers. Calvin Smith, who claimed he had been moving with the aid of crutches for the past nine years, went to the platform and testified of Gods healing touch. He said all the pain and problems associated with his condition had disappeared after Prophet Magaya prayed for him. Gogo Revesina Gurajena wept with joy while moving from a wheelchair which she claimed she had been using for two years. She said all the pain, discomfort and associated conditions vanished as Gods healing through Prophet Magaya brought health and healing to her body. Gogo Jestina Phiri, who threw away the wheelchair she had been ‘using for five years testified that she was no longer in need of the wheelchair after God had healed her. A young woman wept as she told Prophet Magaya what had happened to her. She said she had been treated for breast cancer and had been experiencing tremendous pain in all her joints. When she asked how she knew had been healed, she said: I do not have pain anymore. I had such pain in all my joints. The pain is all gone and I now feel the strength. However, there were also growing concerns from Magayas critics who claimed that the miracles and prophecies were stage managed, claiming that the prophet was supposed to heal everyone who was sick and living with disabilities on those particular days.
