PEOPLE OF THR PHIL V PATRICIO AMIGO Patricio Amigo was accused and charged of murder by the RTC of Davao City and was sentenced with Reclusion Perpetua Accused- appellant claims that the penalty of reclusion perpetua was too cruel and harsh as a penalty and pleads for sympathy. DURA LEX SED LEX HELD: the Courts are not a forum to plead for sympathy . The courts disregard feelings for sympathy . There are other remedy elsewhere, like clemency from the executive and ammendment of the law from the legislature. The courts , cannot but apply the law.
