Delhi: is one of the most important cities of India, as it is the National Capital Territory, which is also the location of the major administrative and legal offices of the country. Later afternon proceed for sightseeing tour of Delhi: Red Fort , Chandni Chowk (Silver Street) , Raj Ghat , India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb, Qutub Minar. Evening drive back to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel. Day 02: Delhi – Agra (By road Approx. 04 hrs) Today morning after a leisurely breakfast check out and drive to Agra. Agra: situated on the bank of Yamuna River, is home to India’s most famous landmark, the TajMahal. Agra was the capital of Mughal Empire in the 16th & 17th centuries and its superb monuments date from this era. Arrive and check in to the hotel. Later visit the Agra fort- the rusty and majestic red-sandstone fort of Agra stands on the banks of the river Yamuna and the construction was started by Emperor Akbar in 1566. At the Diwan-I-Am (hall of public audience), a colonnaded hall of red-sandstone with a throne alcoveof inlaid marble at the back, the Emperor heard public petitions. At the Diwan-I-Khas (hall of private audience) where marble pavilions with floral inlays lend an ethereal ambience, the Emperor sat on his gem-studded Peacock Throne and met foreign ambassadors and rulers of friendly kingdoms.Evening at sunset visit the magnificent TajMahal- one of the seven wonders of the world surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. 20,000 men laboured for over 17 years to build this memorial to Shah Jahans beloved wife. Night stay in Agra. Day 04: Agra – Jaipur (By road Approx. 05 Hrs) via Fateh Pur Sikri After leisurely breakfast at hotel drive to Jaipur. Stop enroute at Fatehpur Sikri. Fatehpur Sikri: the deserted capital of Emperor Akbar approximately 35 kms outside Agra. Built in the 16th century, this city was abandoned 12 years later due to a scarcity of water. The entire city of Red sand stone (sand stone palaces and temples) is virtually intact and a site worth seeing is the 54 m high main entrance -- The BulandDarwaza, The gate of victory constructed to commemorate Akbar’s victory in Gujarat. After the visit, continue your drive to Jaipur. Jaipur - is the capital of Rajasthan, and known as the “Pink City” because of the pink colored buildings in its old city. It is situated on a dry lakebed in a somewhat arid landscape, surrounded by barren hills surmounted by forts and crenellated walls. Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Jai Singh II, who was careful to cultivate good favour with the ruling Mughals, he laid out the city with rectangular blocks according to ancient Hindu architecture. It is a wonderful city for shopping. Arrive Jaipur check in hotel .Evening free for leisure. Overnight in Jaipur. Day 05: Jaipur After a relaxed breakfast proceed for a morning excursion to Amber Fort. Elephant ride ascent to the fort. AMBER FORT PALACE - Amber is the classic romantic Rajasthani fort palace. Its construction was started by Man Singh I in 1592, and completed by his descendent Jai Singh I. Its forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise where a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Hindu styles finds its ultimate expression. Continue sight-seeing. CITY PALACE - A delightful blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architecture, the City Palace sprawls over one-seventh of the area in the walled city. It houses the Chandra Mahal, ShriGovindDev Temple and the City Palace Museum. JANTAR MANTAR - This is the largest and the best preserved of the five observatories built by Jai Singh II in different parts of the country. This observatory consisting of outsized astronomical instruments is still in use. HAWA MAHAL - The ornamental facade of this Palace of Winds is a prominent landmark in Jaipur. Their five-storey structures of sandstone plastered pink encrusted with fine trelliswork and elaborate balconies. The palace has 953 niches and windows. Built in 1799 by Pratap Singh, the Mahal was a royal grandstand for the palace women. JAL MAHAL - is a palace located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city.The JalMahal palace has got an eye-popping makeover. Traditional boat-makers from Vrindavan have crafted the Rajput style wooden boats. A gentle splashing of oars on the clear lake waters takes you to JalMahal. Night stay in Jaipur. Day 06: Jaipur – Delhi (By road Approx 05 Hrs) – Departure Morning after a relaxed breakfast, check out from hotel and drive to Delhi. Arrive and if time permits you can do some shopping. Later in evening transfer you to the Delhi International Airport for your flight back home @ 2030 hrs.
