PERFECT THROUGH SUFFERINGS. How are you suffering today? How did God in Christ suffer in a similar way? (SELAH) My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with me. He went a little further and fell on His face, and prayed, saying O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will. And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. The pains of death surrounded me, and the pangs of Sheol laid hold of me; I found trouble and sorrow. Reproach has broken my heart, and I am full of heaviness; I looked for someone to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. Look on my right hand and see, for there is no one who acknowledges me; refuge has failed me; no one cares for my soul. He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid , as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. God understands, in the flesh, what it feels like to suffer physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
