Wednesday, July 3, 2013 CATARMAN, Northern Samar -- Two unidentified men robbed Tuesday morning the Palawan Pawnshop in this capital town of Northern Samar province and killed one of the two tellers. The pawnshop is located in Barangay Zone 3, University of Eastern Philippines (UEP) campus. The pawnshop is located in front of the College of Arts and Communication (CAC) and Laboratory Elementary School buildings at UEP. The fatality was identified as Diane Banez, 21, single and a resident of same village, while her companion Mae Harvy Elejino, who was wounded, was brought to Catarman Doctor’s Hospital. Initial investigation conducted by Chief Inspector Herardo Hermocilla, chief of the scene of the crime operatives (Soco) in Catarman, revealed that the incident happened around 8:20 a.m., just few minutes after the establishment was opened. “Suspects are subject for investigation and manhunt, anyway may survivor naman tayo kaya madaling ma identify ang mukha ng mga suspects,” Hermocilla said. Initial investigation also revealed the pawnshop just opened last June of this year and has no security guard, no closed circuit television camera (CCTV), and its permit is still on process.
