PETITION TO RUN FOR THE SENATE: SKD Jr. Sir McCarvent Levi Madison II. My fellow kinsmen, I greet you with the words of our ancestors, whose trailblazing and scintillating tale of valor, strength, courage, and love animates our forward advance to higher heights..... My fellow Grand Gedeans, my name is Sir McCarvent Levi Madison, II., I come to you from the Gbala- Boons lineage, I am the amalgamation of two lineages that have contributed immensely towards the socio-economic, political, and cultural amelioration of our County, and indeed Liberia, our common patrimony! Ah taiee...oh..! Ah torgweh oh..!!! My good countrymen, I ascend to this platform tonight with a profound conviction, a solemn acknowledgement, and essentially to promulgate a call to service! My fellow kinsmen, Grand Gedeh, our beloved county, is at a defining moment in this dispensation of her existence: we are faced with a leadership void, grossly under represented in the chambers of the legislature, at war with herself, and disconsolately, witnessing one darkest chapters in our history: the pillaging of our national resources at the expense of our people. The lives of our precious brothers and beloved sisters are plagued, marred, and hurdled by chronic poverty exacerbated by the advent of the debilitating 16 years long of intermittent uncivil crises, the deprivation economic opportunities, amid the presence of vast deposits of natural resources, the absence of healthcare facilities and adequately trained medical practitioners, the relative decay of our already dilapidated infrastructures, a profound brain drain as evidenced by the lack of adequately trained teachers and or citizens lacking basic skills set, and rudimentary academics, and other vocational training and mentorship, the lack of effective representation and advocacy in the national legislature and indeed the nation, the looming presence of deep-seated animosity amongst our people emanating from decades long gone , and the denial of our people their right to due process: The unlawful arrest, and detent of 19 of our kinsmen ( some of whom are loosing their sights), the plundering of our natural resources without dividends paid to our peoples, as well as the absence of commercial, agricultural, and investment opportunities, amongst several pressing impediments confronting our people. My fellow Grand Gedeans, amid these perplexing complexities, we are relieved by gospel of hope and emancipation. In this Election slated for October, 2014, we the Friends of Samuel K. Doe, Jr., (FOSKDJR), a conglomerate of Grand Gedeans from various persuasions having exhausted an extensive vetting process, have found a man suited, endowed, and bred to represent the inherent interest of Grand Gedeh County in the senate come 2014. My fellow Grand Gedeans, that man is Mr. Samuel K. Doe Jr. I am overwhelmed with sentiments of euphoria, to on-behalf of the FOSKDJR deliver this placard, continuing herein, our petition requesting him to Contest the Senatorial post of Grand Gedeh in The Mid-term election, slated for October 2014....! RUN..! Pls Run...! For the pundits who demand justification for our preferment of Mr. Doe, here is our answer. Mr. Samuel K. Doe is one of the proudest sons of Grand Gedeh County who engenders the traits of a true leader and the noblest virtues known to man; his meekness, humility, wisdom, and selflessness, and dedication to the formation of alliances and others initiatives undertaken to accentuate the forward march of Grand Gedeh; His life is a beautiful canvas of responsible judgement, valor, courage, and determination, and yes: adversity and uncertainty; as a boy only 12 years old , he watched the brutal assassination of his father, our Former and by all account, most productive president, Mr. Samuel K. Doe Sr., but yet mustered the courage, determination, and testicular fortitude, not to seek revenge( the cowards response to adversity), but rather knocked on the doors of the Ivory Towers, on a quest for education, in an attempt to transmogrify the course of his nation,consumed under the bellowing flames of tribal hostilities, ethnic xenophobia and blood shed. Mr. Doe is a legal practitioners who brings considerable understanding of jurisprudence and legal expertise to our county; he is a contemporary scholar, a family man,a lawyer, philanthropist, and a father; his democratic credential, pragmatic comprehension global and national politics, willpower, unimpeachable integrity, and profound knowledge base will transform the draggling discords that subject our people to abject poverty and mortgage the destiny and vote for a days meal. He is embodiment of the best Our county has to offer; his life is defined by service, community, public service, and the fear of God, and a respect for our traditional institutions and the respected elders who nurtures it. Mr. Doe is the symbols of hope for our people; he is the best man suited to echo the chorus of unity amongst Grand Gedeans to galvanize their resources on a drive to facilitate the economic emancipation of our people, foster social cohesion, initiate infrastructural development, political representation, and seek the wellbeing of all Grand Gedeans, without appeals to sectionalism, favoritism, and nepotism. Fellow Grand Gedeh, the field is crowded with several respectable and prominent Grand Gedeans, who have contribute immensely to the sustainability of our heritage, and amelioration of our legacy of academic excellence, bravery, and military conquest, but each lacking a critical element of creativity, innovations to transcend the challenges of our contemporary realities , and unimpeachable commitment to the fundamental transforming the lives of our people. Therefore, we have come to awaken you from the long period of slumber and join us in petitioning a man whose visionary leadership will abort the long period of darkness. Mr. Does passion for his people coupled with his inextinguishable and insatiable desire to restore the dignity of our people will enable him to write bills and sponsor legislations that will create an economy of the 21st century responsive to the push and pull of geopolitics , powered by innovation, education, creativity, and corporation with our neighbors. Finally, my Fellow Grand Gedeans, if you are tired with the status quo of politics as usual, join the friends of Samuel K. Doe Jr. In petitioning Mr. Samuel K. Doe Jr. To take the mantle of leadership in our county. We are resolved and have reposed our confidence in the vision, dream, pragmatism, and legitimate aspirations of Mr. Doe, a widely acclaimed, respected, dynamic, charismatic, judicious, disciplined, and dedicated man of unimpeachable integrity to chat a new course in the history of our people, attract investors via legislative ingenuity, create employment, explore new opportunities, and provide legislative oversight to strengthen the state of our union, and deliver our people from the claws of abject poverty..!
