PFC Kevin Potwardowski reporting. October 81 to April 83. I was in SFC Rhineharts Platoon and spent most of my time at the DCINCs house downtown and also at Post 1 on Patch. Memories from that era? The demonstrations at the Main Gate, the drunken riot at the Panzer NCO Club when every available MP in Stuttgart responded, the retirement ceremony for LTG Haldane (WWII Veteran). Schnitzel sandwiches and Schwabenbraus at Moms in Vaihingen. Hofbrau, Dinkelacker and Lowenbrau too. The Oktoberfest, Cannstadter Volksfest and the Fruhlingsfest. The Schlossplatz and the Konigstrasse in the summertime. The house of three colors. :p I was only 18 and 19 while I was at HQUSEUCOM but those were some of the best years of my life. After the 554th it was the 9th ID, the 5th SFG and then on to college. Went back to Stuttgart for vacation in 93, 98 and also 09. I see that Bill Scott, Ed Chaney, Ken Miller and James Brown are here too. Nice to see you again guys. ;) The picture was taken in the rose garden at 39 Richard Wagner Strasse in the summer of 82 by SP/4 Preston Cook.
