PHA MCARTHUR NATIONAL RACE “PETER YAP CUP” GENERAL RULES – APRIL 10, 2013 I. RULES 1. The Philippine Homing Pigeon Association, Inc. (PHA) club rules shall be the basis for this race with the following modifications stated below: II. RACE SCHEDULE 1. PHA race schedule on McArthur race shall be followed. III. BANDS SCHEDULE 1. Bands will be released on January 2, 2013. 2. Bands sales will be up to August 31, 2013. 3. Deadline for the payment of bands shall be on September 15, 2013. Those who fail to pay on September 15 will be penalized Php5,000.00. Another seven (7) days grace period will be given to come up with the payment. After the grace period, the club and the bands sold under this club will be disqualified 4. Deadline for the submission of entry registration form with coordinates shall be on November 30, 2013. Those who fail to submit entry registration form with coordinates shall be penalized Php5,000.00 and will be given seven (7) days to comply or else the members of that club will be disqualified. 5. Double bands are required with one band from the PHA assigned McArthur National Race and the other from the club affiliated with the combined clubs. Non-members of the combined clubs are not allowed to participate and said bands will be disqualified. IV. TRANSPORT 1. PHA transport will be used for this race. In case transport breaks down, the race will be postponed. V. QUALIFYING RACE 1. There will be qualifying race on a schedule released by the racing committees. Banding of birds will be scheduled. There will be a given time for the banding of bird of each club. Show birds at PHA clubhouse will be five (5) hours after the release of birds. Birds not shown within five (5) hours after the release of birds will be disqualified. 2. Stamping and photo of birds might be required. 3. Disqualified birds during the qualifying race will not be allowed to be entered in the PHA McArthur National Race. In case inadvertently entered, prizes for said bird will be forfeited and the placing of the bird will be omitted. VI. DISTANCE 1. Maximum radius shall be: North – 33 kilometers South – 25 kilometers East – 25 kilometers 2. Cavite based clubs will not be allowed to participate, except Cavite Federation. VII. RACE DAY 1. Entries will be based on the registration form submitted by the participant. Fly birds not registered in the participant entry form will be disqualified. 2. The PHA McArthur National Race is a two (2) days race; cut off time is five hundred (500) meters per minute. 3. PHA rule regarding two (2) days race will be applied, unless modified by the committee. 4. The thirty (30) minutes sunrise & sunset rule shall be applied. 5. 2nd day birds may win over the day birds, depending on the speed. 6. In case of severe weather condition, releasing of birds shall be at the full discretion of the PHA racing Chairman. 7. Text messages will be used for pigeon arrivals. The Guidelines for texting will be released on the day of banding for the race. 8. In case of bird’s arrival on the day of race, said birds must be brought to PHA clubhouse for inspection before the cut-off time which is two (2) hours from the time birds have been reported, or else said bird will be disqualified. No matter where your loft’s location is. PHA mother clock will be the basis. VIII. LOFT INSPECTION 1. Loft inspection of winning birds shall be done on the next day. Dead birds, lost birds, and or injured winning birds that cannot fly to its loft within one hundred (100) meters from its loft will be disqualified. IX. PRIZES 1. All proceeds from sales will be up as prizes. This is less the actual expenses incurred during transporting the birds to McArthur, trophies, qualifying and race expenses and awarding night expenses. 2. Distribution of prizes shall be as follows: a. Only the top twenty (20) birds will be entitled to prizes and certificates. b. All 2nd day birds will be given certificates until completion of fifty (50) birds. Top twenty (20) birds are included. c. Top ten (10) birds will receive a trophy, while 11th to 20th place receive plaques. d. In case no birds return after the qualifying time on the race day, prizes shall be distributed among the entries. e. If only one (1) bird returned, the winner takes it all.
