PHILIPPINE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES PREPARE FOR APEC 2015 HOSTING 22 October 2014 - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Office of the Undersecretary for International Economic Relations (OUIER) reconvened the APEC 2015 Committee on Host Economy Priorities (CHEP) Special Meeting of Host Agencies on October 14 at the DFA Elpidio Quirino Hall. The event was attended by the CHEP member agencies, namely: the National Economic and Development Authority, Department of Trade and Industry, Commission on Higher Education, Department of Finance, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Transportation and Communications, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Agriculture, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Health, Department of Energy, The Office of Civil Defense - National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office, APEC Office of the Director General (APEC-ODG) and the private sector representative, the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC). The agencies presented updates on their respective APEC 2015 Ministerial Meetings and High-Level Policy Dialogues, including their substantive priorities and desired outcomes. This meeting is part of the agenda setting objective of the Committee on Host Economy Priorities. The special CHEP meeting is the last of a series of consultations with the host agencies which started in 2013, before the APEC 2015 hosting of the Philippines kicks off this December in Legazpi City with the Informal Senior Officials’ Meeting. The CHEP agencies are also preparing for the upcoming 2014 APEC Economic Leaders Week in Beijing, China which includes the Concluding Senior Officials Meeting (CSOM) on November 5-6, the 26th APEC Ministerial Meeting (AMM) on November 7-8, and the 22nd APEC Economic Leaders Meeting (AELM) on November 10-11.END
