‘ignite’ RYLA 2014 which was held on 6th & 7th September 2014 at DakshinaChitra, Muttukadu was a great success! Thanks to all the Annettes who have registered for this memorable event with great enthusiasm! With more than 60+ registrations from Annettes (City & City Plus) along with Rotarians & Anns made this RYLA 2014 really colorful & successful! Happy to see the Annettes all assembling at Rotary Centre on time gearing up for the trip. The bus took off by 1 pm and reached the venue by 2.30 after which the fun started. After the ice breaking session, the Annettes were taken for a guided tour of the beautiful & ethnical styled DakshinaChitra. Around 6 pm the Annettes assembled at the Amphi Theatre for the formal Inauguration and the Chief Guest was none other than our dynamic District Governor Rtn ISAK. Nazar. The presence of our District First Lady Ann. Afzalunnisa Nazar was truly encouraging. The invocation dance performance by Annettes Meenakshi Deepika, Tarun & Sharanya Balachandran was simply awesome. After my formal welcome address, Rtn Vikash spoke about ‘Why RYLA ?!’ Annette. Sharanya Balachandran was Honored with Rotary Young Star Award by our District Governor. Annette Bharathi Muthuraman introduced our DG in her own sweet way. The inspiring speech by DG Nazar kindled the spirit within our Annettes. “Light Up Rotary’ is the theme of this year and hence was it was symbolically exhibited by lighting the lamps by DG Rtn ISAK Nazar, District First Lady, the RYLA Team & the Amazing Annettes of our District. The “Thank You” Cards handwritten by our Annettes were handed over to the District First Lady Ann. Afzalunnisa Nazar which brought SMILES into her face. “The Culture Talk” by Rtn. Vasanthi Ranganathan was inspiring & neat! After Dinner the much awaited “Bon Fire”/ Talent Show comprising of Dramatics/Singing & Dancing were organized where the Annettes exhibited their extraordinary talents! All of us were spell bound by their skills. Thanks to Rtn. Kittu for handling the session. Later. till the wee hours, our Annettes had a great time talking, chatting & interacting with each other. A great bonding between them made us all happy. Also a special Meeting was held by the District Annettes Council Team headed by DAR. Annette. Bharathi Muthuraman & DAS Annette. Ahilan Tamilselvan. WOW! On September 7th our Day started with games like Musical Chair/Tug of War/Bullock Cart Ride/ Folk Dance/Treasure Hunt and also the ‘Kili Josiyam” which was enjoyed thoroughly by our Annettes and also the Rotarians & Anns. RYLA also had brain storming sessions handled by Mr. Ravi Shankar who spoke on “Leadership” along with some activities for our Annettes followed by PDG. Rekha Shetty’s inspiring speech on “Happiness” which the Children enjoyed a lot. The Certificates were distributed to the participating Annettes which enthused them. After a sumptuous lunch & a Photo Session, our Annettes boarded the buses without having the mind to leave this beautiful place BUT I can assure they were all ignited by this RYLA 2014 which gave way for bonding/friendship/fun & leadership which are the true essence of RYLA. My heartiest THANKS goes to Rtn. Vasanthi Ranganathan – Chair RYLA/ Addl. Chair-Coordinator RYLA Rtn. Vikash Chandra & Asst.Chair-RYLA Rtn. Vetrivel for giving their best to make this event a true SUCCESS! My ‘Thanks’ bestowed upon to Rtn. Arumugham & his Spouse from RC Vellore for taking the lead to bring the Annettes from City Plus. Well Done! My Thanks to Rtn. Suresh Subramoniam from RC Annannagar Adithya for his support to us and to Rtn. Dakshayini from RC Meenambakkam whose presence motivated us. CONGRATS to the Light Up Prez. Rtn. Devendran & his Spouse from RC Annanagar Adithya & Prez. Rtn. Ashraff from RC of Vellore Gems for their Lighting presence. The presence of the family members of DG Rtn ISAK Nazar was truly supportive.
