PHL EMBASSY HOSTS LUNCHEON AND BRIEFING FOR KL-BASED AMBASSADORS ACCREDITED TO PHL 26 November 2014 - For the third straight year, the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur hosted a luncheon for Kuala Lumpur-based Ambassadors accredited to the Philippines on November 20 at the Embassy’s B. Vista Community Hall. In attendance were Ambassadors from Namibia, Algeria, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Finland, Sudan, Swaziland, Nepal, Palestine, Ghana, Kazakhstan, and Tanzania, and representatives from Yemen, Poland, Zambia and Cuba. During the event, those present were also given a briefing on Philippine domestic and regional developments, as well as updates on Philippines-Malaysia relations. The guests were also informed of the events in 2015, particularly Visit Philippines Year 2015, the visit of Pope Francis to the Philippines, and the Philippine hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings. “On behalf of the Philippine Government and the Embassy, I wish to thank you and your government’s support to the Philippines in various international candidatures and initiatives, and in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan. We look forward to us closely working together in the next years,” Ambassador J. Eduardo Malaya said. “Our relations with your respective countries and peoples are important to us, and the Embassy wishes to be helpful to you in enhancing our bilateral relations,” he added. The guests were feted in a luncheon with a menu consisting of lumpiang sariwa (fresh spring roll with vegetables and peanut sauce), molo soup (soup with ground chicken in wonton wrapper), lamb caldereta with mixed vegetables and white rice and brazo de mercedes with ube (yam) filling from Filipino restaurant Merienda de Eva. They were also provided with materials and pamphlets on key developments in the Philippines. END
