PINEAL GLAND TUMOR Axial T2, T2*, T1, FLAIR Sagittal - T1 FLAIR Coronal - T2 FLAIR DWI A w/d T1 isointense, rounded lesion is noted in the pineal region measuring ----mm. It is displacing the Internal cerebral vein superiorly and abuts the colliculi inferiorly. On contrast administration , the lesion shows homogenous contrast enhancement. CT correlation : HU of the lesion lies between 35-40. No e/o demonstrable fat inside the lesion. No e/o calcification. Rest of the b/l cerebral hemispheres appear normal. B/l basal ganglia appear normal Both thalami appear normal Ventricles and cisterns appear normal . The corppus callosum, anterior and posterior commisures appear normal Pit gland and sellaturcica are normal. Ht of pit gland measures 4.9mm (craniocaudally) The cavernous sinus and ICAs are normal. Midbrain, pons, and medulla appear normal The superior, middle, and inferior cerebellar peduncles appear normal. The cerebellar vermis and the cerebellar hemispheric parenchyma reveal no sig. Abnormality. The IACs and their contents appear normal. No abnormal extraaxial fluid collection. The calvarium is normal. The orbits and their contents appear normal. Mucosal thickening noted in most of the ethmoidal air cells and frontal sinus. Circumferential mucosal thickening noted in b/l maxillry and sphenoid sinus. Adenoid appears prominent. Impression: CE MRI of brain shows - A w/d T1 isointense, rounded homogenously enhancing lesion in the pineal region measuring ----mm. It is displacing the Internal cerebral vein superiorly and abuts the colliculi inferiorly. - CT correlation : HU of the lesion lies between 35-40. No e/o demonstrable fat inside the lesion. No e/o calcification. F/S/O homogeneously enhancing soft tissue intensity lesion in the pineal region --Lesions of the pineal gland ? pineal teratoma / ?? pineocytoma has to be considered as as differentials
