PIONEER OF NEO-LUMINISM CHARLOTTE, N.C. - In my new phase of work, I will be focusing more on the new movement that Ive been noted as being the pioneer by art critics as neo-luminism. I was inspired by Van Goghs Starry Night that made me realize you could transcribe the Living Spirit that is in nature onto canvas. This Living Spirit is to me the Creators essence. It is of ethereal Light, but also like a silent symphonic movement that flows through all things that is heard within the inner ear. I was compelled to create such a work after I made a conscious effort around 2001 to see what was the current trend of work shown around America. It was an abstract depiction of darkness upon the human condition, with very visceral, often graphically violent portrayal of the deemed reality of a Godless world upon the human. It showed a world without a Creator, without hope, where faith and belief were literally eviscerated by blades of darkness and thrown in the face of the viewers. My work is in direct confrontation. My works are Neo-Luministic, showing there is Light and Divinity in our universe that shines and glows all around us and in us. I had called my technique Squiggleism, as each stroke of paint is of unblended color, applied staggered in a flowing, lyrical way like streams of musical notes. Using the theory that when the first Light and creator came from Nothingness, it spread in vibration of particles of Light that when slowed began to create physical elements that in turn created physical objects, then life. That all in existence is connected. And recently with evidence of finding the first Light upon creation, the electro-magnetic energies and Light were show similar to my squiggleism strokes. Even as I was taking the steps of series of clicks to see the images on the internet, I knew they would be. I chose the world luminism than illuminism from its Nazi association of the word. My Neo-luminism work is of Light and hope. I have given my life to the pursuit of creating paintings that show the Divines Living Spirit in the world around us. And I hope my works will help others to see what I see. That out of this Darkness, there is Light. There is God. There is Jesus born into the world to connect Humanity to Divinity. Through peace and love in our hearts shall we enter an afterlife of Heaven.....and maybe in whatever little minute way these works are seen as a calling to all people of the Earth to love one another, to hold life sacred. That all of us are brothers and sisters of this precious Life we have here on Earth.
