PLEASE HELP PENNY! Penny came into the shelter with a safety pin stuck through her eye (the vet removed it) she has no hair on her fragile body due only to having fleas so bad they were embedded in her skin (the vet treated her and bathed her) as we were checking her age one of her teeth fell out onto the floor, her nails were so long they were curling under (we had them trimmed). The vet says she is around 10 years old. Penny is completely blind (it was determined by the vet) but can hear very well. Penny wags her tail when you talk to her and tilts her head to listen, and will try to find you, she loves to be held and loved on. Penny likes to roll in the grass and lay in the sun and despite the horrible life she came from she is so loving and wants to be loved so much. I didnt know nor did I care if she had mange, when I saw her I had to love on her (luckily she didnt have mange ..wheew!) she needed someone to pet her, I could see it in her eyes and I wanted her to know someone loves her. Penny must have spent a lot of time locked in a small kennel, without the ability to see of feel grass under her, and although she cant see it now.. she can feel it and I hope its everything she imagines it to be. No animal deserves a life not knowing a kind hand or a loving heart... The vet asked us to name her Penny.. so we did I believe she will bring luck and lots of love to anyone whos heart is big enough to allow her to be safe and loved .. for whatever little time she has left.
