PLEASE HELP!! Via Old Dog Haven: 10-year-old Gretchen is a 100 pound German Shepherd Dog. Her person passed away and now she is living alone but people are coming to check on her twice a day. Not much is known about her past; it is unsure as to how she would do living with other dogs or how well socialized she is with them. It is believed that she’s never lived with cats but she’s done fine with kids who are older and respectful. Gretchen does appear to have some arthritis so a new home with a lot of stairs would be too hard on her. She does get excited for walks and would more than likely benefit and enjoy light exercise and possibly some weight loss. Since she is used to being left alone, she can stay home for a work day as long as she has a way to get outside to relieve herself. This sweet girl was by her owner’s side when he died, she was depressed after the loss and it took a couple weeks for her tail to wag and become playful again. Thankfully, she’s doing better now and Gretchen is ready to begin the next chapter of her life. Her caretakers say that she loves to be brushed, she enjoys going for rides in the car and playing with her squeaky toys. Gretchen is in Spanaway, WA (no transports) posted for her caretakers.
