*** PLEASE NO NEGATIVE MORMON COMMENTS *** I have friends with the Mormon religion and I understand that there are factions of the religion just like any other belief system and I respect my friends with tremendous love. Be advised that if there are any negative comments about the religion itself, because I am currently reading into their belief system, I will be removing them even if they are meant in sarcastic jest. My education has taught me to read, to view topics from an argumentative standpoint as though I am arguing for an argument even if I am against. That is true education and critical thought. That said, onward. Many understand that I am indeed a Feminist. Not only am I a Feminist, but I am an Egalitarian. However, my question is, understanding and embracing a certain belief system and knowing their thought processes regarding age old policies with gender specification--why would you strongly argue a point that challenges that belief systems religious policy? Was backlash something that was really not expected? With freedom and liberty and fighting for a cause, there are many arguments and considerations to weigh. Maybe the purpose and intent was to challenge the religious leaders. I could not begin to speculate because I have not lived a life of that belief system. However, this much I know--many belief systems are eager to publicly shame a woman for equality demands because it challenges theologies that are deeply ingrained through generations. Do not cry for being excommunicated. Hold your head high and continue preaching with your own belief with strength and faith because those who mind dont matter and those who matter dont mind. This had to be expected so move forward with strength and continue what you do without the old theologies.
