Some non meteorologists are amazing, others not so much. 2. ECMWF(EURO) forecasts out 10 days & GFS Model forecasts out 16 days. In the winter you can always find a major storm. 3. Deal with one storm at a time. Last week, I said to watch for Feb 5th. So lets deal with that first. A shift in track for this storm could bring more than 6 inches. 4. Looking at a storm more than 7 days away a lot of things can change. Remember a week ago what the forecast was for Super bowl Sunday, first snowy and then cold and now dry and near 40. 5. One day and storm at a time. A lot of times storm lovers go looking for a big storm, they miss the storm in the near future and then act surprised when it happens. 6. I am not saying these long range storms wont happen, you just have to take it with a gain of salt for storms so far in the future. 7. The GFS model has been the better model over the ECMWF this winter. 8. Spring in 48 days. 9. Have a great day.
