PLEASE READ. PLEASE SHARE. Jacks Birthday Mission: Birthday Cards from Heaven So, today is August 7th. Exactly two weeks from today, it will be Jacks first birthday. To say the least, Jacks first year has been one that a beautiful baby boy should not have to experience. He was in and out of the NICU his first month of life. He lost his big brother at 33 days of age who was supposed to play with him, take care of him, and teach him how to live life to the fullest, even when battling a deadly disease. He was then in the hospital for a month and a half, and had to deal with his own of pokes and prods, and a g-tube placement surgery. He had to deal with parents who were not always able to be there for him, and cried a lot out of nowhere just because. He had to deal with being our everything, our only reason for waking up. He did not celebrate his first Christmas, his first Easter, and his cousins birthdays. That is a lot for a baby to have to endure during his first year of life. But, endure he has. And, he has done so with a beautiful smile and energetic personality. There is no doubt that he is Josephs special gift to us. And, we are forever grateful to Joseph for this most beautiful gift. Jacks life and first birthday is something to celebrate, and he deserves a special mission of his own. So, I was recently inspired by Danny Nickersons birthday mission of receiving cards from all over for his birthday. (Thank you Carley Nickerson for the inspiration.) Our family participated in this, and it was an amazing experience and feeling. So, I got to thinking. Maybe we could do something like this for Jacks first birthday, but with a twist. So, here is my idea. I would like to ask whomever would like to participate to send Jack a Birthday Card from Heaven, sent from Heaven. I like to picture Joseph up in Heaven telling everyone he meets in Heaven about his special little brother, Jack, and all the crazy things that he does. I can hear Joe excitedly explaining to the crowd around him that his little brothers first birthday is coming up. And, Joseph would make sure that everyone he met in Heaven sent Jack a special birthday wish. And, those people in Heaven would send a card/message to Jack describing all the things Joseph has told him/her about Jack. So, I am assuming that most people who read this post have someone special who is up in Heaven. So, I would love for Jack to receive a card from your special someone in Heaven describing the things Joseph has told him/her about Jack, and wishing him a Happy Birthday. So, for example, I could send a card from my brother, Jeff, telling Jack all the things Joseph has told his uncle in Heaven about him. (Or, if this is too difficult for some, feel free to send a card with a memory of Joseph, or just a birthday wish to Jack.) I think it will be wonderful to read these types of beautiful messages to Jack as he grows. To be honest, I think it will be great for Jack, but also for Kate Daigle Middlemiss and me as well.
