PLEASE READ THIS POST! I beg of you all. I advocate for animal rights because I believe deep down that until we encourage people to consider the well being of vulnerable creatures who remain wholly at our mercy, we will never wake people up to the urgency and importance of supporting human rights. Most of us are all guilty at some point, in the midst of the chaos of our busy lives, of becoming desensitized to the needs of children in crisis, the poor, the homeless, the mentally ill or the elderly. At some point or other in all our lives we need to depend on the kindness of others. I was so disturbed to learn that a Wisconsin based church, St. Patrick’s Parish in Hortonville, is planning an animal fighting contest in which pigs are punched in the face, kicked, body-slammed, jumped on, and thrown into a bucket. This is such an unnecessary, abusive practice creating terror and pain in an innocent creature merely for human amusement. Please PLEASE help me cancel the Roundup Pig Rassle!!!
