PLEASE REPOST THROUGH FACEBOOK, TWITTER: It is utterly reprehensible that Amnesty International, an organization that claims its goals are to campaign to end grave abuses of human rights have ignored in its report the grave human right violations that are at the root of this conflict - a deliberate and systematic effort by Hamas to target the Israeli civilian population while exploiting the local Gaza population as human shields. During the course of this conflict, Hamas repeatedly relied on command centers, rocket launchers, combat tunnels and militant positions embedded within the most sensitive civilian infrastructure, including homes, hospitals, mosques and cemeteries Between July 5 and August 5, Hamas terrorists fired 597 rockets from civilian facilities in Gaza, including: Approximately 260 rockets fired from schools. Approximately 160 rockets fired from religious sites, including mosques. Approximately 127 rockets fired from cemeteries. Approximately 50 rockets fired from hospitals. Amnesty International failed to mention or acknowledge these incidents. These grave infractions were documented in multiple IDF videos, which indisputably prove fire from medical facilities and abuse of ambulances for terrorist transportation. Impartial journalists reported rocket fire and Hamas operations in major Gaza hospitals. Despite the sheer volume of hard facts, Amnestys report merely states Amnesty International has not been able to confirm any of these reports. Nor does Amnesty mention the bombing of Shifa Hospital by Hamas rockets on July 28. As a rule, the IDF does not target civilian infrastructure. Civilian casualties are a tragic inevitability of callous Hamas disregard for human life in both Gaza and Israel. Despite these ongoing efforts, the IDF still does everything in its power to minimize civilian casualties, using measures ranging from leaflets, text messages, warning calls and warning shots prior to targeting. Furthermore, the IDF has aborted and cancelled multiple strikes in order to avert civilian casualties. During the course of the operation, while terrorists attacked the Israeli homefront with terrorist tunnels and over 3,500 rockets, Israel continued to provide humanitarian support to the residents of Gaza, transferring medical supplies while offering medical aid via a field hospital at Erez Crossing. The IDF is carefully reviewing all incidents mentioned in the report and will continue to defend the residents of Israel while holding itself to the standards required by international law. Needless to say, it is crucial that international organizations demand accountability for Hamas flagrant illegal practices, which continue to endanger both Israeli and Gazan residents. - LTC.
