Claudy Country Park Meet: Central car park, Claudy Overview: A guided riverside walk through the attractive mature woodland of the former country estate of Cumber House, encompassing the old towered church of St Patrick, Cumber Old Church and Cumber House. Our experienced guide will detail the history of the Claudy region, as well as detail some of the myths and legends of the area. *Most suitable for families with young children *Light refreshments provided *Please wear appropriate walking footwear *Note- Places are limited to a maximum of 20 so please book your attendance with Jonathan Henderson, contact 077-18694172 or email [email protected] Day 2 Saturday 24th August, 10am-4pm (approx.) River Faughan Environmental Tours Meet at the RAPID offices, Killaloo Overview Day 3 of the River Faughan Environmental Days will assess the River Faughan estuary as it completes its 46km route from Sawel Mountain to Lough Foyle. The variation in the river profile from source to mouth will be highlighted and discussed. Mullaghash and Ballydonegan Sweathouse Meet- Park Bridge, Park Village Overview: A moderately challenging walk to the summit of Mullaghash Mountain encompassing Ballydonegan Sweathouse, an 18th or 19th Century version of a modern day sauna, situated at the east side of Clougherna Burn. This walk will suit those walkers seeking to capture the scenic views of the wider Sperrins landscape, without too much of a challenge. *Please bring a packed lunch. *Appropriate footwear and waterproof gear is required *Please contact Jonathan Henderson on 077-18694172 or email [email protected] to book your place. Sawel Mountain~ Dart Pass Meet- Park Bridge, Park Village Overview: A challenging walk to the summit of Sawel Mountain, the highest peak in the Sperrins Mountain range to its mountainous neighbour Dart, where panoramic views of the Glenelly Valley, Errigal and Muckish Mountains in Co.Donegal and the Mourne’s may be observed. Most suited to those seeking a walking challenge. *Please bring a packed lunch *Ensure to wear appropriate walking boots and waterproofs *Places are limited to a max.
