PLEASE SHARE: Officers in Blaenau Gwent are appealing for information following a number of burglaries and attempt burglaries in Ebbw Vale and Tredegar over the last week. A property in Harcourt Terrace Tredegar was burgled on Thursday April 17th at 1.30pm and a handbag stolen. On Sunday 20th April a house in James Street, Tredegar was broken into between 1pm and 3pm and two bags stolen. Someone attempted to enter a property on Bethcar Street, Ebbw Vale on Friday April 18th between 2pm and 2.30pm. A property at The Sycamores, Ebbw Vale was broken into overnight on Friday (April 18th) and money taken and a property on The Crescent, Ebbw Vale was broken into on Sunday April 20th. It’s believed the majority of these have been carried out by opportunistic thieves entering through unlocked doors. Residents are urged to be vigilant and to always lock doors and windows even if they are in the property Officers are currently carrying out lines of enquiry, including house to house, regarding the incidents and patrols have been increased in relevant areas. Local officers are visiting residents in the affected areas to offer crime prevention advice.
